Air Bloc® and Blueskin® SA
Optimize Energy Performance, Reduction (EA Credit 1.X), From 1 to 6 points. Henry® Company manufactures over 17 different air barrier systems designed to resist uncontrolled air movement through the building envelope. According to the U.S. Department on Energy, up to 40% of the energy costs required to heat and cool a building are consumed due to air leakage through the building envelope. An air barrier system can substantially reduce the amount of this leakage, resulting in reduced building energy consumption. Construction IAQ Management Plan, During Construction (EQ Credit 3.1), 1 point.
Henry Company's Air Bloc 33 system and Blueskin SA systems allow the contractor to quickly seal the skin of the building envelope early on in construction as the exterior sheathing is installed.
: The air barrier system, which is vapor permeable and
unaffected by UV radiation, will:

· Prevent the infiltration of jobsite dust and airborne pollutants

· Provide a rain barrier to protect absorptive materials from
moisture damage

· Allow moisture, which does get into the building during
construction, the ability to diffuse outward through the wall
system, reducing the possibility of condensation
within the system and possible mold growth.
